Kim Jong Un, First Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, First Chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army, met the nuclear weapons scientists and technicians and provided guidance to the work for boosting the nuclear arsenal.

He learned in detail about the signal successes the scientists and technicians in the field of national defence science have achieved in developing the nuclear arsenal, true to the Party's line of building up the Juche-oriented nuclear force.

Praising the scientists and technicians, trustworthy "nuclear combatants" of the Party, for having made a signal success in their research work to significantly bolster up the nation's defence capability and self-defensive deterrent true to the Party's line of simultaneously developing the two fronts, he said he was very gratifying to see the nuclear warheads designed with the Korean-style structure of mixed charge adequate for instantly setting off thermonuclear reaction. The nuclear warheads have been standardized to be fit for ballistic missiles by miniaturizing them, he noted, adding this can be called true nuclear deterrent.

He stated with great satisfaction that when Koreans are determined, they can do anything.

Stressing that the Party’s line of simultaneously developing the two fronts is the most revolutionary and just one to impregnably raise the country’s defence capability by building up the self-defensive nuclear force and build a thriving socialist nation by stepping up economic construction, he said that it is a strategic line to be permanently held fast to as long as the imperialists' nuclear threat and arbitrary practices persist, not a temporary measure for coping with the rapidly changing situation.



He called on the nuclear scientists to massively produce nuclear materials through normal operation of nuclear facilities on a high level and increase the production of more powerful, highly precise and minimized nuclear weapons and their carriers and upgrade the already deployed means of nuclear strike without interruption by incessantly developing the nuclear weapon technology.

Noting that the true target of our nuclear force is the nuclear war itself, he explained that the stronger our nuclear strike capability grows, the more powerful our deterrent to aggression and nuclear war gets and it is the most just and reliable way of preventing the country from disastrous nuclear war to firmly bolster up the nuclear force both in quality and quantity.

The right to preemptive nuclear strike is by no means a monopoly of the US, he said, declaring that if the US imperialists infringe upon our sovereignty and right to existence with nuclear weapons, we will never hesitate to deliver a preemptive nuclear strike at them.
